Kim McCullough, the Founder and Director of Total Female Hockey, is a trailblazer in women’s hockey, overseeing both skills training and the strength and conditioning for her athletes.
Empowering the next generation of female hockey players and coaches is a passion of McCullough. Since 2008, McCullough has worked with over 8,000 players, 1,000 coaches, and 150 teams, focusing on taking their performance to the next level through on and off-ice development. She works closely with all of her players and their families to discuss the scholarship process in women’s hockey and to help formulate a strong established mental game.
McCullough founded Total Female Hockey to help educate female hockey players in hopes of helping them avoid making the same errors she encountered in her hockey career.
“I learned everything the hard way – on my own, with no help, and no guidance from any female players who had played at the elite level,” said McCullough. “That’s why I work with players, parents, coaches, and associates all over the world – because I believe every female player deserves the opportunity to take their game to the next level under the guidance of a coach who has been there and genuinely wants to help them succeed.”
Aside from McCullough’s time with Total Female Hockey, she has held various positions playing and coaching. McCullough played NCAA Division 1 Women’s Hockey for Dartmouth College from 1998-2002; she was the team’s leading scorer and was elected as Captain by her teammates and coaches. During her time at Dartmouth, the team was two-time Ivy League and ECAC Champions. McCullough and her team also made two National Championship appearances. Up next: she embarked on a professional career competing in the NWHL/CWHL for six seasons as both a forward and a defenseman.
Following her playing career, McCullough began coaching the next generation of female players. She kicked off her coaching career working in Bantam AA and Midget AA for Toronoto-Leaside, ultimately working her way up the coaching ladder. Most notably, McCullough was the Head Coach for the Toronot-Leaside of the PWHL from 2014-2021, where she won Coach of the Year for the 2015-16 season.
McCullough’s most recent coaching position was for Team Iceland during the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Hockey Championships Under 18 Tournament. As standing Head Coach, she led her squad to a second-place finish in the tournament, leaving Zug, Switzerland, with a silver medal.
McCullough has the expertise to elevate any female athlete to the next level through her training programs. We are excited to host her at TCS Live in June, where she will share her insight and knowledge into what makes her one of the most talented coaches in hockey skills and techniques.
