PRESENTATIONS FROM PAST EVENTS
HOW TO TEACH AND SELL TEAM DEFENSE
ANDRÉ TOURIGNY / UTAH HOCKEY CLUB
We’ve had the privilege of working with many NHL coaches over the years at TCS Live and that continued with André Tourigny, who is currently the Head Coach of the Utah Hockey Club.
Tourigny’s presentation reviews his approach to teaching and selling team defence, including why his defensive zone coverage is nicknamed “TSN”, in addition to a 1-1-3 neutral zone forecheck, offensive zone forecheck and tracking.
CREATING OFFENCE INSIDE THE DECISION ZONE
BRANDON NAURATO / UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN
Brandon Naurato’s quick rise up the coaching ranks has seen him go from a Player Development Coach with the Detroit Red Wings to Head Coach at the University of Michigan in under five seasons. During that time, we’re proud to have had him on our TCS Live stage three times.
At the 2022 TCS Live, Naurato shared a presentation about creating offence in the decision zone with numerous examples from NHL play. Throughout, he introduces a Problem-Solution-Action plan, discusses when to attack vs. possess, and why it’s important to stay out of “the cemetery”.

LEVERAGING CROSSOVER PATTERNING FOR SKATING
CATHY ANDRADE / PROFESSIONAL SKATING COACH
In 2022, Andrade taught how to master edges with 3-turns at the Global Skills Showcase and her masterful presentation earned her a spot at 2023 TCS Live, where she taught how to leverage crossover patterning for skating development.
Andrade’s on-ice demonstration focuses on optimizing the gilde, improving a player’s posture, teaching the mohawk and learning how to use your undercut when coming off your inside edges.
